Java Update Failed

Failed

Hi, since a few days ago, I have had sporadic issues on my recently new asus laptop. I was having a problem with flash and shockwave not being able to display properly in IE & Firefox,
finally after numerous uninstalls i got the flash/shock content installed.
NOW...
I do not know why, but something happened and uninstalled J2RE 5 update 10 that was already on my computer, but it must have been corrupt or something.
I try to update using java online updater, online download option, or full offline installer option and nothing works, I keep getting errors,
like please verify the installer is a valid microsoft installer script, another one is a transport error. cannot deliver java update engine.
What I've also tried:
- Dial-a-fix to clear active-x controls, and re-register libraries
- reinstall acrobat 8 professional, also a repair install to fix pdf's not loading in either browser
- I keep getting a MS update for XML 4.0 that keeps downloading but NEVER installs, even though add/remove says it is installed.
- I also tried installing BREA jrocket runtime environment, installed successfully, but still cant display java content online, and I am sure it doesnt work in any program that requires java.
- Also re-installed firefox twice, after trying to install a script addon that did nothing for me from their recommended script updates.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!! please! thank you so much for many suggestions!

Java Update Failed To Download Required Files

Re: Java won't update - what to do From doing research on my own java troubles, I've discovered that Java has two independent versions, 32-bit and 64-bit. They run separately, and you need to download both of them if you're using 32-bit AND 64-bit browsers. JDK bug # 8212684: TZupdater 2.2.0 not able to update with tzdata2018f release – Ole V.V. Jul 8 '19 at 9:32 I don’t think this is a duplicate. The linked entry says it will be addressed in a 2018 version. From the description it appears that the system fails to download required files in order to update Java. Need to understand the exact Java version installed on the system and the error message that appears when it try to fetch the required update files. It turns out that when the java updater attempts to download new updates, it uses the Windows service called “Background Intelligent Transfer Service” (BITS). If the logged on user is only a standard user, then the java updater fails to correctly use the BITS service to download the new update.
